Founder

Rafael A. Yániz is a is a founder working at the integration of law, healthcare, and technology.

He is also an adjunct professor and political analyst who was born and raised in Miami, Florida.

Rafael founded his law firm Invisible Dots Legal PA in Spring 2025 in order to work with promising and established founders, builders, clinicians, and investors who are challenging norms in their industries.

He advises and works with corporate clients, including promising startups that are creating entirely new categories amid significant secular shifts.

He previously served as Director of Information Technology & Data Advisory Affairs for the Jackson Health System (Miami, FL), which operates Jackson Memorial Hospital, the largest public hospital in the United States. He was the youngest member of the IT Senior Leadership Team.

Some of his notable deals while at Jackson included a $21+ million deal transitioning the institution’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) software from on-premise to a SaaS model, a $3+ million deal for a custom cloud-based solution to de-identify patient medical records from multiple institutions, a novel data protection and data use agreement with McKinsey & Co., multiple Zoom enterprise licensing deals that enable hybrid corporate work alongside telehealth solutions, advising on Jackson’s switch from Oracle Cerner to Epic Systems, and negotiating complex clinical trial agreements (CTAs) with dozens of pharmaceutical companies and device manufacturers.

While in IT, Rafael created and managed the IT Business Operations & Finance functions, including a $121+ million budget. He oversaw all Research IT functions and served as the decision-maker for IT in research endeavors.

He also proposed and spearheaded Jackson’s inclusion in the University of Florida OneFlorida+ Research Network (part of PCORnet) which unlocked significant grant revenue and enhanced research opportunities for Jackson’s patients.

Rafael is an adjunct professor at The Honors College at Florida International University where he created and teaches a new course “Law, Health, & Tech.”

Rafael has provided extensive on-air political analysis for WPLG Local 10 News in Miami, he appears on Fox Noticias (Spanish language Fox News), and is a published opinion contributor to The Miami Herald. He is very active in national security-focused political fundraising and lobbying efforts.

Rafael’s prior professional and educational experiences include the University of Miami’s Office of Privacy & Data Security, multiple stints at Apple Retail, Apple Higher Education Marketing, Goldman Sachs, and the US Department of Justice.
